Program Overview
The Fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease is a 36-month, community hospital-based training program designed to provide clinically rigorous training in general cardiology. Training in all aspects of acute and chronic cardiovascular disease is conducted in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including a dedicated heart and vascular institute. Diverse curricular offerings in cardiovascular subspecialties provide trainees with extensive exposure to both invasive and non-invasive procedures. Comprehensive didactic programming both supplements and complements the clinical curriculum.
Program Aims
- Provide the trainee with the clinical knowledge, procedural skills, clinical judgment, professionalism, and interpersonal skills necessary to practice a long career as a leader in cardiovascular medicine.
- Encourage research and scholarly activity.
- Promote leadership qualities.
- Collaborate with the sponsoring Internal Medicine program.
