    Emergency Medicine Residency Program

    This is a 3 year residency fully accredited by the ACGME and the RRC.  We are currently approved to accept 14 new residents per year.  Our mission is to provide a top-notch experience designed to prepare our graduates for the practice of Emergency Medicine at the highest level, from both a clinical and academic perspective.  Our faculty and residents are committed to the dual goals of delivering state-of-the-art emergency medical care while providing high-quality instruction and supervision in the science and the art of Emergency Medicine.

    Family Medicine Residency Program

    We prepare our residents to provide competent and compassionate care, which is comprehensive and continuous for the entire family.     Internal Medicine Residency Program

    Welcome to the Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center Internal Medicine Residency program! This is a 3 year residency, fully accredited by the ACGME and the RRC. We are currently approved to accept 12 residents per year. Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center has a long history in post graduate medical education for physicians. Our primary aim for the Internal Medicine resident is a total commitment toward your development as either an internist for the practice of internal medicine or to prepare you for further training as a sub-specialist.

    Osteopathic General Surgery Residency Program

    Welcome to the Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center Osteopathic General Surgery Residency program. This is a 5 year program fully accredited by the AOA. We are currently approved to accept 3 new residents per year. Our mission is to provide broad exposure to general surgery cases with strong specialty rotations available in vascular, urologic, pediatric, trauma and cardiothoracic surgery.

    Osteopathic OB/GYN Residency Program

    Welcome to the Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center OB/GYN Residency program! OB/GYN is a 4-year program fully accredited by the AOA. We are approved to accept 4 new residents per year. Our mission is to prepare the graduate as a competent, compassionate practitioner who is prepared to successfully pass the examination for certification in Osteopathic OB/GYN.

  • Osteopathic Orthopedic


    Osteopathic Orthopedic Residency Program

    Welcome to the Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center Osteopathic Orthopedic Residency program! This is a 5-year program fully accredited by the AOA. We are currently approved to accept three new residents per year. Our
    mission is to provide the physician with the basic information, skill and motivation necessary to become a general Osteopathic Orthopedic surgeon. This program

    provides a broad exposure to orthopedic surgery cases in a tertiary center, as well as several community hospitals. The Program Director is Frank Jaeblon, DO.

  • Podiatry

    Podiatry Residency Program

    Welcome to the Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center Podiatry Residency program.  This is a 3 year program with added Rearfoot/Ankle Reconstruction certification fully accredited by the CPME.  We are currently approved to accept 3 new residents per year.  Our mission is to provide an excellent educational experience to develop quality, caring , and compassionate podiatric physicians.

    Transitional Year

    Welcome to the Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center Transitional Year Residency program.   This is a one year program fully accredited by the ACGME.  We are currently approved to accept eight residents per year.  Our mission is to provide a top quality clinical experience in a strong academic setting, while being committed to excellence in teaching in a constructive and friendly environment.

Join a Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center Residency program and become a vital part of northwest Ohio’s most comprehensive academic, faith-based, six hospital system serving Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan.

At Mercy St. Vincent, you will train in a tertiary Level I trauma center for adults and children. A 445 bed hospital that is home to five Life Flight air ambulances, an accredited Chest Pain Center and has more than 62,000 ED visits annually. Mercy Children’s Hospital holds the highest designation for treating high risk mothers and babies in their Level III nursery.

Mercy has two outstanding community hospitals in the Toledo area, Mercy St. Charles and Mercy St. Anne. You will receive the same level of excellence in medical education from dedicated faculty in a community setting.

Mercy St. Vincent is proud of its ability to offer Allopathic, Osteopathic and Podiatric residency programs. In addition to our nine residency programs with approximately 165 residents, we build on our inherent strengths from major academic partners affiliated with Mercy, including the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine.
