The Mercy Health – Regional Library Services is the primary provider of knowledge based information services and online resources for the Mercy Health – St. Vincent Medical Center residency programs and Mercy Health hospitals of Northwest Ohio.
About the Libraries
Mercy Health – Regional Library Services is made up of three libraries in different hospitals to better serve Mercy Health residency programs: Mercy Health – St. Vincent Health Science Library, Mercy Health – St. Charles Bernard K. Craw Memorial Library and Mercy Health – St. Anne Hospital Library. The libraries provide state-of-the-art, knowledge-based medical information in an array of formats. Two of our libraries offer individual study rooms, multimedia rooms with the most up to date software, and corrals for quiet study and reading or preparing for lectures, presentations and tests. The libraries are accessible to residents 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Experienced library staff is available Monday through Friday.
Electronic and print collection
You will have access to thousands of medical journal titles and textbooks, both electronically and in print. Mercy Health – Regional Library Services also has an excellent interlibrary loan service (partnering with some of the finest academic libraries in Ohio) for obtaining additional texts and journal articles. Electronic access is offered to some of the best and most competitive medical databases and resources, such as Up-To-Date, Visual Dx, Access Medicine and Surgery, MD Consult, PubMed, Cochrane Library, New England Journal of Medicine, as well as additional resources which provides resident physicians immediate access to the most up to date medical research and point-of-care needs from any web browser.
Mercy Health – Regional Library Services provide dedicated library staff that support resident literature and research needs with individual attention and quick turn-around times. Library staff are available for article requests, literature and IRB searches, as well as publication assistance. We encourage residents to come in to browse scholarly journals, request references, or check out books.
