Academic Library Services

The Mercy Regional Library Services is the primary provider of knowledge based information services and online resources for the Mercy residency programs and Mercy hospitals of Northwest Ohio.

About the Libraries

Erin Baker, MLIS

Mercy Regional Library Services is made up of three libraries in different hospitals to better serve Mercy residency programs: Mercy St. Vincent Health Science Library, Mercy St. Charles Bernard K. Craw Memorial Library and Mercy St. Anne Hospital Library.  The libraries provide state-of-the-art, knowledge-based medical information in an array of formats.  Two of our libraries offer individual study rooms, multimedia rooms with the most up to date software, and corrals for quiet study and reading or preparing for lectures, presentations and tests.  The libraries are accessible to residents 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.  Experienced library staff is available Monday through Friday.

Electronic and print collection

You will have access to thousands of medical journal titles and textbooks, both electronically and in print.  Mercy Regional Library Services also has an excellent interlibrary loan service (partnering with some of the finest academic libraries in Ohio) for obtaining additional texts and journal articles.  Electronic access is offered to some of the best and most competitive medical databases and resources, such as Up-To-Date, Visual Dx, Access Medicine and Surgery, MD Consult, PubMed, Cochrane Library, New England Journal of Medicine, as well as additional resources which provides resident physicians immediate access to the most up to date medical research and point-of-care needs from any web browser.

Library Staff

Mercy Regional Library Services provides a dedicated library staff that makes resident requests a priority.  By dedicating one of our library staff to the residency programs, we are able to provide one-on-one attention and a quick turn-around.  Contact the library or stop in for article requests, literature and IRB searches, publication assistance, and access to scholarly journals, or for browsing, reference requests, and checking out books.
